What are the admissions requirements for international students?
CTU requires that all F-1 status international students adhere to the following
procedures:
- Students submit to the school a certified English translation and evaluation of
equivalency of their education transcripts for the appropriate level of admission
being sought.
- Students provide evidence of satisfactory completion of a recognized English-language
study program such as ELS, transcripts showing completion of college-level English
courses, or evidence of earning a degree at an institution where English is the
instructional language.
- Students provide a statement of financial support guaranteeing that tuition will
be paid to the school in advance of each academic term and that a sponsor will provide
all necessary living expenses for the international applicant or provide a letter
of financial guarantee from a sponsoring entity. The guarantee letter must cover
the total projected educational expenses for at least one full academic year.
- Students meet the admission requirements of CTU and declare an academic major. Students
may change this major at a later date, but an initial declaration to the school
allows students to set up an education plan with their representatives.
- CTU's published refund policy will apply. Form I-20 AB is issued after the student
is accepted to the University.
Colorado Technical University international students must complete a CTU application
for admission and pay a non-refundable application fee to the school.
What documentation is required for admission to CTU?
In addition to your completed application and submission of application fee, you
must provide a valid student visa, an official English translated transcript, and
a statement of financial guarantee stating that adequate funds are available to
cover the first years tuition fees and living expenses.
Am I required to apply for admission in person?
No. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the CTU campus that interests them
and speak with an Admissions Representative to learn about our application process
and about the degree programs that are best suited to their needs. It is also possible
for students living far away from one of our campuses to take a virtual tour of
the campus and complete an online application for admission to CTU.
Does the university require its students to speak English?
Yes. Students must provide evidence of satisfactory completion of a recognized English-language
study program such as ELS, transcripts showing completion of college-level English
courses, or evidence of earning a degree at an institution where English is the
instructional language.
Does CTU offer financial aid to international students?
At this time, we only offer student federal financial aid to U.S. citizens who qualify.
However, there are several private loan programs for which you may qualify. We also
encourage you to check with the appropriate authorities within your home country
for assistance programs that may exist for your benefit.
What types of private loans are available?
All students are encouraged to research outside financial assistance that may be
offered through other organizations, such as your company's human resources department.
Most public libraries provide publications listing educational benefits offered
by agencies throughout the United States.
Can tuition be paid in the currency of my country?
No. As an international student, one of the first things to keep in mind is that
the university requires that you pay your tuition and fees to the school in U.S.
dollars only.
